20-20 Kitchen Design

Quite simply, 20/20 is the best kitchen and bathroom design tool on the market today. This program boasts technical advantages that streamline the pricing and ordering process and make the design “come alive” for our remodeling clients.

Here's how it works. Ordering cabinets can be a complex process. Not so with 20/20. Most cabinet manufacturers’catalogs are built right into the 20/20 program. This enables cabinet dealer to price complete kitchens - both stock and custom cabinetry - with the click of a button. This makes designing, pricing and ordering much more accurate, convenient and fast. In addition, every manufacturer has a different abbreviation used for labeling cabinets. This is called “ nomenclature. Manufacturers require the specific nomenclature for each cabinet to place an order. With 2020, MyHome is able to print out the exact nomenclature and to know which cabinets are available. This cuts down on both mistakes and waiting time.
20/20 is also makes remodeling come alive by allowing the designer to create a three-dimensional color image of what the new space will look like. With other programs, creating a 3-D color rendering takes a very long time. With 20/20, it's fast and easy for the designer to produce an amazing graphic enhancement of the finished product. Your remodeling consultant can produce detailed floor plans, elevations, renderings and 3-D color images to assist in your decision-making process. For example, if you would like to open your kitchen into an adjacent space, you will be able to visualize the renovation well before demolition actually begins. 20/20 also is a great tool to help you to decide if you are happy with the layout or would still like to revise the design.

EPISODE 3: SHADOW OF A DOUBT

Here's the third episode that I originally intended to have done before the 2nd, but here it is anyway. I meant for this one to have slick motion blur, but I would have taken my computer an eternity to do it right, so I just shot it and released it as it is. WARNING: This episode is not suitable for all audiences, it contains singing. It's over with pretty quickly though, and I promise that this will be the first and last time Mike sings. As for Dave, well, I'll keep it to a bare minimum in the future. Unfortunately it's going to be a while before Episode 4 because I have something big planned for that, so imagine I'm dead or something so you won't expect it too soon. Enjoy!

Goodies

Well the results came in on that contest I entered and Episode 2 lost to a bunch of frag videos, so bummer about that.  As a way of thanking everybody who voted in it, I've released some alternate shots of my favorite scene from Episode 2 that you can download here:

Alternate take (do not download if you haven't watched Episode 2!  It's a spoiler)

Also, one of the viewers, Chris Fischer sent me some subtitles he made for Episode 2.  I've re-edited and color coded it like I did with Episode 1, so if you have hearing problems or simply can't understand what the hell Craig and I are saying with that helmet radio filter on you can grab the subtitles here:

DataCAD 11

DataCAD is a professional-level AEC CADD program for architectural design, photo-realistic rendering, animation, and construction document creation. Developed by architects and software engineers for architecture, DataCAD includes tools that make design and drafting easier, such as automatic door and window insertion, associative dimensioning and hatching, automated 3D framing and OpenDWG-based DXF/DWG translators. DataCAD is listed as the second most-widely used software by registered architects according to the most recent American Institute of Architects (AIA) firm survey.

FOR THE ARCHITECT . . .
DataCAD allows you to draft, edit, and prepare precision construction documents. More than just a drafting tool, DataCAD includes automated 3D modeling, and photorealistic rendering tools that put you ahead of the competition. You control the lighting, cast shadows, and apply texture maps to create compelling, 24-bit colour images of your latest design. Visualizing a project in advance allows you and your client to save time and money by agreeing on changes earlier in the design process.

FOR THE CONTRACTOR . . .
Load DataCAD on your laptop and take it right to your building site. It has special features for builders and contractors to help you increase productivity and improve quality. For example, DataCAD’s built-in framing utility automates 3D framing for floors, walls and roofs. You actually see the software 'walk around' building walls, and locate stair, door, window, and skylight openings.

EPISODE 2: ALIENS

Well at long last, here is Episode 2 of Civil Protection. This one is the most ambitious video project I've done yet, having more dialogue and action than Episode 1 and weighing in at 11 minutes. Also, this one deals a lot more with the world from Half-Life 2, but I tried to write this episode so that people who know nothing about the game can still follow it without any trouble. Since this one is fairly huge (100MB), I'm offering a low quality version of it as well, although you're going to miss out on some stuff if you watch that one as you won't get stereo sound, nor be able to tell what's happening in the background. The download links are up on the right.
